The Department of Software of Computer Systems, Faculty of Applied Mathematics, prepares specialists at all levels (Bachelor, Master, PhD) under the educational program Software Engineering of Multimedia and Smart Systems (specialty F2 SOFTWARE ENGINEERING).

Duration of study:

Bachelor’s degree – 4 years
Master’s degree – 2 years
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) – 4 years
Form of study: full-time (state-funded, contract-based).

BACHELOR’S DEGREE PROGRAMME

Software engineering specialists on the “Software Engineering of Multimedia and Smart Systems” programme create cutting-edge digital products – ranging from websites and mobile applications to multimedia platforms, intelligent services and software for smart technologies. During their studies, students learn modern approaches to developing interactive, immersive, multimedia, Mulsemedia and smart systems, creating cloud services, effective data storage (SQL, NoSQL, Data Warehouse), intelligent data analysis and ensuring data security. Significant attention is paid to AR/VR/XR technologies, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT) and modern engineering methods of software development.

Throughout the course, students have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the various roles within an IT team and gain an insight into the specific nature of the work carried out by developers, software architects, DevOps engineers, QA engineers, business analysts, UI/UX designers and other specialists involved in the software product lifecycle.

Graduates can work in roles such as: Software Developer, Full-Stack Developer, Frontend Developer, Backend Developer, Web Developer, Mobile Developer, QA Engineer, Automation QA Engineer, System Engineer (DevOps), UI/UX Designer, Unity Developer (AR/VR, Multimedia), Prompt/AI Engineer and similar roles.

MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMME

Software engineering specialists on the “Software Engineering of Multimedia and Smart Systems” master programme study in depth the methods and tools for developing modern software and the architectural design of complex software systems, and learn to implement innovative solutions involving XR/VR/AR, digital twins, computer vision and artificial intelligence.

The degree programmes include the following modules: Software Engineering Methodology, Evolutionary Computation and Intelligent Agent Systems, Quality and Safety Assurance Methodology for Software Systems, Analytics in Product IT, Artificial Intelligence Technologies for Multimedia and Smart Systems, Cybersecurity of Immersive Systems and Digital Twin Platforms, Multimedia Interfaces and Immersive Systems.

Graduates of these programmes can work in middle and senior-level roles such as: Software Architect, Software Developer, Full-Stack Developer, QA Engineer, DevOps and Security Engineer, Data Analyst, Prompt/AI Engineer, Business Analyst, Product Owner, Product Manager, Project Manager and similar positions.
